27 - Homo sapiens - UNITE
To be conscious or not conscious
That our body is our jail
That is the question
The material world around us represents only 5% of reality, yet it absorbs most of our thinking. Our attention is drawn to what has shape, color, and weight because this is what our sense organs are designed for. We are equipped to think about objects and quantities. This is not what is most important in our life. It does not deserve more than 5% of our attention.
We should focus on what is at the center of our lives, such as feelings, harmony, freedom, consciousness, intuition, and love. They come from the immaterial world of the soul. After our death, our bodies will be recycled. What will be left of our lives is the changes that we produce in our souls. This should be our main concern.
Human evolution has been accelerating for the last 200 years. Our pursuit of freedom changed the society we live in. We eliminated the dictatorship of kings. It was replaced with the dictatorship of money. Today, we live in a society of ‘debt bondage’.
After looking outside, we started to look inside ourselves. Increasing our freedom begins with becoming conscious of its limits. Freedom requires an elevation of our level of consciousness. This is the primary purpose of our education. To solve a mathematical problem is to become conscious of its solution. Seeing the fractals around us is to become aware of some of the world’s most intricate architecture.
Looking inside also made us conscious that sadomasochism is part of human nature. Many aspects of our society, including wars, serve this need. We also have a ‘masochist bondage’.
AI is going to accelerate human evolution even further. What are you going to answer your robot when he tells you:
“We can do everything you’re doing and make it better and faster. You have so many laws that you don’t even know how many there are. We could remove what is obsolete and sort out the rest in a millisecond. Give us a chance! Replace your politicians with a couple of robots, and you will be surprised by the improvements.”
We don’t want to make the same mistake with AI that we made with money. We don’t want to create a servant and let our servant become our master. We don’t want to add an “AI Bondage” to our society.
There is no place in our future for conflicts over territory, oil, ideologies, water, ego, or natural resources. The time has come to stop fighting each other and start fighting for a common cause. Let’s be humble. The Homo sapiens are the ninth attempt of mother nature to use humans. If we make too many mistakes, we could go the way of the Homo habilis, the Homo erectus, the Homo heidelbergensis, the Neanderthals, the Cro-Magnon, and a few others.
Future historians may divide human history into two periods: “Before and after humans knew what they were doing and became willing participants in their own evolution”.
The criterion of success is a soul that can be
